Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of dietetic services, resources, and related products by Oliver John Goodchild, HCPC-registered dietitian (Registration number: DT031745), regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA, Membership number: 21293741), trading under the name The Goodchild Dietitian Clinic (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking an appointment, attending a consultation, or purchasing resources from us, you (“the client”, “you”, “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. General Provisions

1.1. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Oliver John Goodchild trading as The Goodchild Dietitian Clinic.

1.2. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Any changes will take immediate effect upon being published on our website.

1.3. These Terms shall not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

1.4. Age Restriction- All clients must be 18 years of age or older to access our services.

2. Payments

2.1. All fees for consultations and resources are payable in full at the time of booking.

2.2. We accept payment via credit/debit card and Apple Pay.

2.3. Prices are clearly stated at the time of booking or purchase. We reserve the right to amend prices at any time; however, any changes will not affect confirmed bookings.

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

3.1. Clients may cancel or reschedule appointments by providing at least 24 hours’ notice.

3.2. Cancellations or amendments made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a charge of up to 100% of the consultation fee.

3.3. This policy is designed to ensure fair allocation of appointment times and complies with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

3.4. Where insufficient notice is given, charges may apply as preparation time will already have been undertaken, and the appointment window that could have been allocated to another client is lost. To cancel, please review your appointment confirmation email for the cancellation link, or contact the clinic directly via email.

4. Missed Appointments

4.1. For telephone or virtual consultations, if you do not answer, we will attempt to contact you on two occasions.

4.2. If there is no response, a voicemail will be left and the session will be marked as a missed appointment.

4.3. Missed appointments are non-refundable. Any further consultation must be rebooked at your own cost.

5. Virtual Appointments (Google Meet)

5.1. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have access to a suitable device, a quiet environment, and a stable internet connection.

5.2. Appointment access is provided through the Google Meet link sent via confirmation email or calendar invite.

5.3. If you fail to join within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time without prior notice, the session will be deemed a missed appointment (see Clause 4).

5.4. In the event of poor internet connectivity, we may, at our discretion, offer to complete the consultation by telephone to ensure continuity of service.

6. Our Cancellations

6.1. In the unlikely event that we must cancel your appointment, you will be offered either:

  • a full refund, or

  • an alternative appointment date.

6.2. Refunds for eligible cancellations will be processed to the original payment method within 5 working days.

7. Resources & Digital Products

7.1. Optional pre-prepared resources may be made available for purchase.

7.2. These resources are supplementary and not essential to your care.

7.3. Digital products are non-refundable once delivered, except where required by law.

7.4. All resources are the intellectual property of Oliver John Goodchild, trading as The Goodchild Dietitian Clinic, and may not be copied, shared, or distributed without prior written consent.

8. Liability

8.1. Oliver John Goodchild, trading as The Goodchild Dietitian Clinic, maintains Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance through the British Dietetic Association Master Policy (insured by AXIS Specialty Europe SE, administered by Altea Insurance / Accelerant). The current limit of indemnity is £10,000,000 any one claim, with one reinstatement, up to £20,000,000 aggregate, inclusive of legal costs and expenses. No policy excess applies.

8.2. Where services are provided by associate or subcontracted dietitians engaged via the website, each practitioner is responsible for maintaining their own professional indemnity and public liability insurance. All subcontracted dietitians will be required to provide evidence of appropriate cover before delivering services through the clinic. Oliver John Goodchild assumes no liability for services provided by any practitioner who is not appropriately insured.

8.3. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded.

8.4. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
(a) any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (including, without limitation, loss of income, loss of opportunity, or wasted travel costs);
(b) issues arising from third-party platforms (e.g., Google Meet, telephone providers) outside of our reasonable control; or
(c) any delay or failure in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

8.5. Our total liability in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with the services provided shall not exceed the limit of indemnity provided under our insurance policy at the relevant time.

8.6. Clients may request a copy of our current evidence of insurance at any time.

9. Privacy Policy & Data Protection

9.1. We comply with the UK GDPR and all relevant data protection legislation.

9.2. Your personal and medical information will be collected, stored, and processed solely for the purpose of providing our services.

9.3. We will not share your data with third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law or to protect your vital interests.

9.4. Further details of how we manage your information, including your rights of access, correction, and erasure, are set out in our full Privacy Policy, available on our website.

9.5. We are in the process of registering with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller for the processing of personal data. This registration will be completed prior to the commencement of services with any clients. In the meantime, we continue to comply fully with UK GDPR and all relevant data protection legislation.

9.6. We take the security of your information seriously. All records are stored securely using Google Workspace (including Google Drive), which is GDPR-compliant and protected by encryption, password protection, and multi-factor authentication. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1. All materials, resources, and website content provided by us remain the intellectual property of Oliver John Goodchild, trading as The Goodchild Dietitian Clinic.

10.2. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use such materials solely for your personal use.

10.3. You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit our materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

11.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

11.2. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Medical Disclaimer

12.1. The information and advice provided by Oliver John Goodchild, trading as The Goodchild Dietitian Clinic, constitutes dietetic guidance only and is delivered within the scope of dietetic practice as defined by HCPC and the BDA.

12.2. It is not intended to be a medical diagnosis or a substitute for professional medical or clinical care.

12.3. Clients are advised to seek advice from a qualified medical practitioner for any medical concerns, symptoms, or emergencies that fall outside the remit of dietetic practice.

12.4. The Clinic assumes no liability for any adverse outcomes arising from clients’ failure to seek appropriate medical advice beyond dietetic support.

13. Client Responsibilities

13.1. Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information relevant to their dietary needs and medical history.

13.2. Failure to provide accurate information may impact the effectiveness of advice and services provided. The Clinic shall not be liable for any outcomes resulting from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the client.
